In 1951 Bowman issued its biggest baseball set to
date, with 324 cards, and featured rookie cards of
Mickey Mantle and Willie Mays! Cards measure
approximately 2 1/16” x 3 1/8” and the full-color fronts
feature each player’s name in a small black panel.
Card backs feature the player’s vital information and a
biography. Veteran stars featured in this set include
Yogi Berra, Robin Roberts, Gil Hodges, Bob Feller,
Roy Campanella, Duke Snider, Warren Spahn, and
Ted Williams. Rookie cards (along with the Mantle
and Mays) include Whitey Ford, Monte Irvin, and
Nellie Fox. The original set is valued up to $20,000,
